DIN 6325 Dowel Pins are headless parallel pins hardened and ground to a precise diameter. One end is chamfered 15 degree and radiused to aid with insertion while the other end is radiused. Multipurpose by design, the solid cylindrical pins are used for aligning parts and as guide and wrist pins, shafts, stops and as roller bearings for wheels and casters. When installing in press-fit sized holes, press into position instead of using impact force (the pins can splinter if struck by a hammer). Furnished in Tolerance Class m6 (oversized) and precision h6 (undersized), the "limit deviations"—also called the "tolerance zone"—varies by diameter. As an example, the diameter of an M5 m6 pin is plus 0.004 to plus 0.012 mm but an M5 h6 tolerance pin varies by only 0.008 mm instead of 0.016 mm: 0 to -0.008 mm. All pins are plain finish steel and are therefore not impervious to rust. Measure length from end to end like ISO 2338 and inch series dowel pins but DIN 7 length does not include its radiused/chamfered ends.
